- Van Dough watches _North by Northwest (1959)_ (qv) which ends in a climactic scene on Mount Rushmore. This film later has a similar scene on "Mount Richmore."

- Filmed (almost) entirely on location at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.

- Richie's roller coaster is the Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America.

- When the film was put into production, 'Macaulay Culkin' (qv) was nearly five foot six. A cast of tall adults were hired to create the illusion that Culkin was shorter than he actually was at the time. Most of the cast is taller than six foot.

- The Rich mansion is the same one used in _Hannibal (2001)_ (qv) as the home of Mason Verger

- 'Jonathan Hyde' (qv) replaced 'John Cleese' (qv).

- Theatrically released in the USA with _Chariots of Fur (1994)_ (qv) as the preceding cartoon.

- The Forbes Fictional 15 ranked Richie Rich as the fourth richest fictional character in 2006. He has a net worth of $10.7 billion.

- By the time this movie was made, Richie Rich's publisher, Harvey Comics, had ceased production due to declining sales.
