- Both 'Terence Young' (qv) and 'Euan Lloyd' (qv) worked for free while all the big-name actors were paid $1.00 for their work.

- The film was promoted on US TV under the title "The Poppy Is Also a Flower", but when it was actually shown, the onscreen title was "Poppies Are Also Flowers".

- 'Grace Kelly (I)' (qv)'s first and only completed film since retiring from the screen in 1957. She was also a front runner for _Marnie (1964)_ (qv) (for her favorite director, 'Alfred Hitchcock (I)' (qv)) and at the time of her death was prepping an official comeback with the never-completed 1982 drama "Rearranged", which paired her with 'Edward Meeks' (qv) and 'Robert Dornhelm' (qv).

- The United Nations Secretary General asked Xerox to sponsor this production for the US, which it did.

- One of the film's producers was 'Edgar Rosenberg' (qv), who had just married comedienne 'Joan Rivers' (qv).
