Trivia of The Pink Panther Strikes Again

- One trailer for this film consisted entirely of bloopers.

- During the opening credits, one of the movies parodied is _The Sound of Music (1965)_ (qv), which starred 'Blake Edwards (I)' (qv)' wife, 'Julie Andrews (I)' (qv).

- 'Lesley-Anne Down' (qv) was cast as Olga by mistake. 'Blake Edwards (I)' (qv) meant to audition 'Nicola Pagett' (qv), who played Elizabeth Bellamy on _"Upstairs, Downstairs" (1971)_ (qv), but instead auditioned Ms. Down, who played Georgia Worsley on later episodes of that same series. 'Julie Andrews (I)' (qv) commented that she didn't look like the actress in the series, but Edwards wrote it off to lighting and make-up.

- The title of this film is misleading, as the "Pink Panther" - the large diamond featured in the first Clouseau Pink Panther movies, _The Pink Panther (1963)_ (qv) and _The Return of the Pink Panther (1975)_ (qv) - is not featured (or even mentioned) in this film. By the 1970s, the name "Pink Panther" had become so synonymous with Inspector Clouseau - and the animated panther featured in the opening credits - that all future Clouseau films would include "Pink Panther" in the title.
