Quotes of Millions
[first lines]Damian Cunningham: [voiceover] The French have said au revoir to the franc, the Germans have said auf wiedersehen to the mark, and the Portuguese have said... whatever to their thing.
Damian Cunningham: God doesn't rob banks!
Damian Cunningham: God doesn't rob banks, all right? God does not rob banks.
Anthony: What did you bring a thousand pounds to school for? Can't you see that's suspicious?
Damian Cunningham: It's not suspicious, it's unusual.
Headteacher: Would you like to tell us why you did it Anthony?
Anthony: [pause] Our mum's dead! [crying]
Damian Cunningham: I thought it was from God... who else would have that kind of money?
Anthony: [to Damian] If you tell the government they will take forty percent of it. FORTY PERCENT! Do you know how much that is? [Damian shakes his head] That's nearly ALL of it.
Dorothy: What?
Damian Cunningham: I need a wee.
Dorothy: Tell her that. Can he use your loo?
Cashier 2: I'm not sure.
Dorothy: The poor kid's been in here half an hour. You must have a loo. What do you do when you need to go?
[the Ugandan martyr motions to a red line across his neck]
Gonzaga: I was beheaded.

Trivia of Millions
- The book that Damien reads and references throughout the film is called "Six O'Clock Saints". Popular in the UK in the 1950s, it is surprising that any parent would give a copy to their child, as the screenwriter 'Frank Cottrell Boyce' (qv) points out at 03:08 in the DVD commentary, since it contains all the gruesome stories that Damien tells in class, plus many more. Its inclusion is a sort of homage to Martin Scorsese, who, according to Boyce, has cited it in interviews as one of his favorite books growing up and that it gave him a wider understanding of the human experience than had been revealed to him as a child. In Roger Ebert's 3/18/2005 review of the film, Ebert mentions that Boyce "got the inspiration for the screenplay from an interview in which Martin Scorsese said he was reading the lives of the saints."- 'Danny Boyle' (qv) and 'Frank Cottrell Boyce' (qv) mention at 27:17 in the DVD commentary, that one of the actors who play the martyrs of Uganda claimed to be a descendant of the real martyrs of Uganda of 1881.
- Many of the cutting and shot compositions in the train robbery sequence are intentionally referential to moments in _Night Mail (1936)_ (qv) and _The Full Trivia >>
