biography of Romare, Debora
Deborah began her career as a child actress in Minneapolis, Minnesota at The Guthrie Theater in such stage productions as A Christmas Carol and The Taming of the Shrew. As a teenager, Deborah moved with her family to Los Angeles and immediately began working in feature films: Straight Time with Dustin Hoffman, Lepke with Tony Curtis and in various MOWs and the television series Happy Days. She then moved behind the camera into film editorial and was fortunate to work with such directors as Francis Ford Coppola and Wim Wenders while at Hollywood's Zoetrope Studios. Deborah worked closely with Mr. Coppola and his son, Gio in the first video film-to-tape editing system on Apocalypse Now, One From the Heart, The Escape Artist and Hammett. Deborah eventually moved into television as an editor on the Emmy Award-winning series China Beach. While working on the feature films Victor, Victoria and The Man Who Loved Women, Deborah met Blake Edwards who ultimately mentored her as a screenwriter. Deborah's first feature screenplay was optioned by Columbia Pictures. She continued honing her craft in writing, editing and directing. Deborah co-wrote, co-produced and co-directed Patients, a television sitcom pilot with her partner Vincent J. Wiley which led to them forming their production company, 19th Day Pictures. Recently, they sold their feature, thriller screenplay, Raccoon to Rainstorm Entertainment. They are attached to direct. They optioned their feature comedy, Escort Service and they're attached as Executive Producers. In pursuing a career in writing, producing and directing, Deborah and Vincent have completed eleven feature-length screenplays and four television pilots, most of which have won awards in screen-writing and television writing contests. They are casting their new feature comedy, Confessions From Philly and following production will begin casting their comedy, Whipped in the spring of 2010.TltypeS1973@aol.com
